As you can tell, I am still frustrated by the nerfs to fire, though thankfully they have been pulled back a bit (Critical Mass is now a 1.3 multiplier, up from 1.25, and Inferno Blast got a buff against multiple targets). I am also frustrated by some of the fights; I cannot seem to get the hang of the Blade Lord fight in Heart of Fear and I feel like I’m doing horribly there.

That being said, progression raiding is only a part of my game and I don’t think I should dwell on it too much.

RP of late has gotten fantastic. I had a scale to describe how I felt about people but I don’t think it’s terribly useful to do here. What I will say is that over the past couple weeks I have met and RPed with seven different people who, taken separately, would merit full on obsessive dedicated RP. Just yesterday I met and RPed with two people with whom I did not want that RP to end.

My feeling is that if you have one such person you should consider yourself blessed.  These seven do not even include people I have known for months, many of whom I could pick up a good RP with at any time.

I don’t know if it’s coincidence that raiding frustrations have led to greater enjoyment of RP, but it’s really nice to know that it’s there.  It’s really nice to have that social experience apart from raids.

A word as to MRPs.  I love reading MRPs, and I may or may not speak again within the next few days as to what I think makes for a good MRP.  I am toying with the idea of taking the good MRPs I find and posting them here, breaking them down into what I like about them and what, if anything, I might dislike about them. But the MRP is not the end all and be all of it.  Of the seven people I referred to earlier, three of them had utterly fantastic MRPs.  The other MRPs did not stand out as much, although I think all of them had some detail that piqued my interest. It was after talking with them and RPing with them that I realized they were quite special.  MRPs are a good starting point, but once you get the RP started, they’re less important.

With that, I encourage anyone who is frustrated with RP or other parts of the game to go look for MRPs. If you see one you like, tell the person you like it!  It may lead to something wonderful.
