Pandaria Plans
So Pandaria hit yesterday. What are you going to do about it?
Here’s my plan. I’m leveling slowly. I had no intention of racing for any realm first, but nor do I have any intention of being ready to raid by next Tuesday or some arbitrary time period. I think Jana is the only high level mage main in the guild so I’ll be all right if I take things slowly, but if I miss out on regular raiding I’m not going to be upset with it.
My plan is to take each character a level at a time. I’ve gotten Jana to level 86, and next is Traxy. Once I get Traxy to level 86, I’ll work on Saxsy. And once Saxsy is level 86, I’ll swap back to Jana. This way I think I’ll get a feel for the characters and their different situations and how they are to play.
One thing I already know I’m going to do is jump back in the gem market. I checked the AH for ore yesterday (Ghost Iron Ore, to be precise), and it was available for what I thought was a reasonable price of under 200 gold a stack. I bought a bunch, prospected it, and started leveling jewelcrafting. Then when I swapped to Traxy, I found out why ore was somewhat reasonably priced: there’s a lot of it out there, and even without a flying mount I was able to farm quite a bit for Jana. As a result, Traxy is now a Zen Master Miner, and Jana is now a Zen Master Jewelcrafter. I suspect I’ll have more to say about jewelcrafting later; my initial impression is that the way it works has its upsides and downsides but overall is decent.
My goal is a level a day. I got about a level and a half yesterday, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable.
So far I’m enjoying the story lines. There was a speech from the Skybreaker Admiral, a basically “Go get the filthy Horde” speech, wherein someone for the first time in my experience acknowledged all the crap the Horde has done since Cataclysm. It wasn’t much, but it did make me smile.
